Career Exploration Day is one of the AKA-XAO ASCEND projects. ASCEND is an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., signature program and is part of Target I: Educational Enrichment. ASCEND focuses on Achievement, Self-Awareness, Communication, Engagement, Networking, and Development Skills. Participants include high school male and female students with emphasis on academic, life, career and character-building skills. The ultimate goal is to motivate, engage and assist these students in reaching their maximum potential. The sorority will place additional emphasis on SMART careers (Science, Math, And Related Technologies).
